Self-Satisfied Adonis.

Several months ago, I walked into an Urban Outfitters and found this undesirably priced candle and couldn't get over it. Since then, I've been seeing it in little boutique shops here and there (mainly for men, as it smells slightly "masculine"). I graciously received these as birthday gifts from Cliff just before we left NY to head back to our origins.

While my time in California was short, I had a lovely time. This may be correlated with the length of my trip, as each visit seems to get better as it shortens. I suppose this just means I take things for granted, and need restraints to help me grasp their importance. As I grow older, I want to cherish the given time to spend with my family. I wish I was able to see my parents and brother more. On our last day, I was able to celebrate my birthday with my family and everyone's plus-one, which was weird and oddly comforting at the same time. I was afraid to go home for my birthday but I realized I couldn't have asked for anything better.

The morning after, Cliff and I flew up to Portland to visit his family and celebrate a happy milestone.

We got to do some of our own things too, and it was pretty rad.

We just got back this morning, with an unpleasant red-eye experience and JFK-to-Astoria nightmare. I'm utterly exhausted and can't wait to revel in some solitude during the holidays. Tis the season, after all.
