Consider: Everyone Feels Misunderstood.

Before assuming no one understands your alter ego, consider: everyone feels the same way. I can't tell you how many times I wrote about an incident that happened to me without allowing the person or people involved to defend themselves (although that is the beauty of journaling), and each time I do that, I always win.
I think how I am just misunderstood, and I know something about myself that they do not. And then I read a blog post reflecting back to a time that involved me, and now I wasn't able to speak up for myself. They said they were misunderstood. "She just doesn't get me," was her reaction, referring to my apparently unpleasant response-- something I didn't pick up at all from the conversation we had. So it occurred to me: doesn't everyone think they're misunderstood? To kind of, save themselves?
