Cities: Revisited.

A city represents: everything at the tip of your hands.

When I went to Denver for a summer, I felt the liberation of being young in a trendy downtown. Everything was mine. My time, my money, my desires, and my choices. Inevitably at 21, I felt an inequitable balance of power among the things I had ownership: plenty of time, an endless desire, limited choices, and very little money. After all that, you add: new city-- mid-list, some income, more life choices, and social support, then take away: desire and time.

Three years later, six months into living and working in the greatest city, which I had achingly kept at arm's length (for some rational fear that comes with taking risks), I feel that I should not say something like: I don't think I'd adjust well to a city like Boston.
